THE CAST IS GONE!!!

Horray!! The awful thing is off!!! Katie had her cast and pins removed yesterday. The Dr said that she healed up great, and the best news is she doesn't have to wear the brace that we were expecting. He felt that she is stable enough to go without.
She is in pain, like we expected, but she seems a lot more comfy without it.
One last picture of it. She looks so happy like she knew it was coming off!
This morning. She is a little dopey still, but look how much smaller she looks!
And finally her "awesome" new scar! The bandage that you see is where they removed the pins. If you look really closely you can see how peely her skin is.

Easter

For Easter my aunt and uncle, and grandma and grandpa all came over to our house. We all somehow fit into our tiny little house:) They brought an AMAZING lunch too! The weather was off and on rain, so I hid some eggs inside the house for Reese to find. Caleb didn't seem interested otherwise I would have hid some for him too. And poor Katie was still stuck in her cast, so she had to just watch, but she thought it was fun anyway.

8 Months!!

My little Boo is 8 months old today! Crazy I know.. For her day she got her first cold. So she has not been a happy girl. I think it is on it's way out, or at least I hope it is.
Here are the things Reese is up to these days:
*she is a very fast crawler. and she is very quiet, not a good combo
*she can pull herself up to standing
*she has 4 teeth
*Caleb is her favorite person
*she thinks the bar on Katie's cast is something for her to chew on. I take her away from it a million times a day, but she LOVES it.
*she loves her walker, and cruises all over the house in it
*she weights about 18 lbs my scale is not very accurate
This is what she looked like when she got up this morning. Yes those are dried boogers all over her face. But even sick, she is my smiley girl in the morning

Countdown

The countdown is on!!! Only 13 more days until Katie's cast comes off!!!
Just in time, because it's getting pretty stinky!

Reese the stander

On April 5th Reese stood up by herself for the first time! She used the couch to pull herself up of course. But now there is no stopping her. All she wants to do is stand up! So I am afraid that she will be walking very soon. She walks back and forth all along the couch. too cute!

Blog issues

For some reason I am having problems posting to the blog. I write the note and upload the pictures but it won't let me publish the post! SO frustrating!!
I have so many pictures and updates! I think I have figured it out though...

Phone frustration

My phone has not been working the last couple of days. It is driving me crazy! I needed a new phone(mine would fall apart if I took the cover off) so I though that was the problem. So I got a new phone today, and guess what....still same problem, no service!! UGHHHH So if anyone needs to get in touch with me its either email, facebook, or even better write me a letter and mail it. Haha! I'm pissed because Reese stood up by herself for the first time yesterday, and I have pictures of it on my phone because it was closer than the camera, and I can't upload them to show you! So hopefully this issue is resolved asap

Katie

Katie had her post op appt yesterday in Oakland. The Dr. said that everything looked great. She is scheduled to have the cast and pins removed on 4/26. I am bummed that they are making her stay in the cast for 7 weeks instead of the original 6 weeks, but I agree with wanting to make sure everything is 100%healed.

WE CAN MAKE IT!!

I have developed a routine with the cast care and diapering, so it is a quick process now. But it's starting to get really smelly. And it hasn't even gotten dirty yet.....yuck!!

Sitting out enjoying the beautiful weather.

A day at the park

Since we have had such gorgeous weather I took Caleb, his friend Peyton, and Reese to the park yesterday. Katie and Jim went to her post-op appt in Oakland(that will be in my next post). The boys had a blast. Reese loved the grass and swinging. Caleb and Peyton Reese after the grass

I love my food

Reese and her teeth

Reese has been SUPER crabby the last few days. Getting up at night crying(she does NOT do this ever!) just wanting to be held all the time, and just not our normal happy girl.

Well today after she ate her lunch I was carrying her into the living room, and I heard her grinding her teeth. It took me a second to realize she only has bottom teeth, so what is she grinding them on?!? Sure enough her right front tooth on top is there.

Tonight when I was looking closer I think the other front tooth is about to come out as well. Yikes! thank goodness for Tylenol and wet washcloths.
