I feel like I haven't had a second to sit and write any blog entries. But I finally got caught up so here you go:)
Katie came home on Tuesday night. Just one day short of being in the hospital for two weeks! She is doing incredibly well. I seriously can't believe how great she seems to be feeling. She has a back brace that wraps around her torso to keep her straight when she is moving around, so basically whatever she will tolerate we can do.
Her incision is so crazy.
The top is just steri-stripped, but the bottom half is stapled. I know the picture is kind of nasty, she developed a HUGE allergic reaction to something on her skin, as you can see. It is kind of all over her. They at first thought it was the spray adhesive they use in the OR to attach the drapes, but then she kept getting new rashes and irritation in the hospital. So we still don't know what it is from. She still has quite a bit of discoloration on her skin, so hopefully it lightens up and goes back to her normal and doesn't scar!
Reese is fully recovered from her walking pneumonia. She is back to her full of piss and vinegar self. She spends most of her days running around and screaming at the top of her lungs. Happy or sad, she LOVES to just scream.
Her favorite things to say are:
"What's that?"
"Sissy"
"woof"
"thank you"
She is just too cute for words!
Caleb goes back to school on Tuesday(YAY!) this three weeks of break is too long! The kids got SO many amazing Xmas gifts, so he has been very occupied with them. He is at the age where we have to force him to come out of his room, so we don't see him much:) ohhh to be a teen...
Jim worked his first shift at AMR this week. I think the transition is going pretty smoothly. Obviously he has to learn some things, and they have a very different way of operating, but I think it is a great thing for Jim. He seemed MUCH happier when he came home too vs. the bad mood he has been coming home in for the last month or so.
He is trying to get ready to take his Paramedic tests. Not sure when he will be taking those yet, hope its sooner rather than later!
As for me, I have been just doing my everyday tinkering around the house. Working two days a week. Nothing too exciting. Everyone else in this family is keeping me so busy, I hardly have time for ME:) I did get a night out with a friend the other night. We had a great time drinking margaritas, and complaining about our husbands(just kidding!!:)
Life is good. I'm happy to have all of my kids under one roof again, Jim is home 4 days a week now, and we are all healthy.
XOXO
